Year of Remodel: 2007
Designed: Wayne Foley, Foley Construction
Construction: Foley Construction
Length of Project: 5 months

The finished kitchen

With a family wedding in the immediate near future and many out of town guests to arrive, the old and small kitchen would simply not serve all the house guests. A 400 square foot addition was added to the rear of the home to allow for an expansion of the kitchen and breakfast room as well as a new laundry room.  To tie the new area with the old, a butler’s pantry was created providing additional serving space and display areas for the owner’s special treasures.

The existing kitchen was stripped back to the framing material to allow for new wiring and plumbing and to create a blank canvas on which to create the new kitchen. The selection of oyster white cabinets with a chocolate stain, premier appliances with decorative wood panels, a recessed nook at the cook top; and Gialo granite tops complete this kitchen masterpiece.

Special Challenges: The addition was constructed at the rear of a very tight and steep lot. Getting to the work area was challenging.
